Core Plus Aerospace
Project Overview
Core Plus Aerospace is an initiative connecting students, schools, and industry to develop aerospace skills. The project goal was to build a modern, dynamic website that presents programs, resources, and facilities in an interactive and user-friendly way, while allowing users to locate relevant schools or skills centers efficiently.
Scope of Work
I developed the website entirely from scratch using WordPress with Sage (Blade templates), TailwindCSS for styling, and ACF to manage dynamic content. The project included creating reusable components, implementing dynamic content fields, building interactive features such as a searchable map and filterable resources, and ensuring full responsiveness across devices — all without using any page builder.
Challenges & Solutions
The main challenges were:
Implementing a dynamic searchable map where users can enter their school district to find high schools or skills centers teaching the Core Plus Aerospace curriculum. When a district is entered, the search results dynamically update the map to display relevant locations.
Building a resources page that displays numerous items, which users can filter by media type.
Solutions included custom PHP functions within Sage for managing dynamic content, ACF for structured data management, and JavaScript with TailwindCSS for live search, interactive map updates, and filtering logic.
Results
The website now delivers a modern, interactive experience with a searchable map and filterable resources. Users can efficiently locate schools or skills centers and explore aerospace programs, while the client receives a scalable and maintainable WordPress platform.
